Tug Of War album was originally going to be credited to “Paul McCartney & Friends”

Well, where do I start? Richie with a perm? G. Martin, matinee idol? Is Ringo playing one of his original 20-in. Ludwig sets? And like the ‘Coming Up’ video, why does Paul have the strap going round the headstock of the Hofner? This of course, before it was refurbed and worked on by the team at Mandolin Bros. in NYC (Stan Jay, the owner of MB, passed away last week at age 71).

All this plus Eric Stewart, Steve Gadd, and Linda in bobbysox (phwar!)…

Tug of War -fantastic album . As much as I like Wings why are all the re-issues always Wings . So much great stuff between 1982 and now

Linda’s the only one in this photo looking great. Paul’s hair is killing it for him. I wish Back to the Egg was getting released. I like Tug of War, but I like Back to the Egg more.

Well, the good news is it that these up coming releases show the archive series isn’t just a Wings project limited to 70-80, so that is great. Altho I’m sure many want these released at a faster pace, I think it’s just right, we get a year to savor the product, and each release is given it’s time to shine and stand alone, if these were all released in larger batches we wouldn’t be able to really give each individual album the attention they deserve. I’m fine with being teased and having to wait for satisfaction :-)

  6. love the horn sound on Take It Away. yet another steller contribution from the great Mr. Emerick.
