Buddies and pals.

I’ve posted this before, but i love this note from John to Paul in December 1971, it shows that a lot of Johns ranting, moaning, bitching and firing up at Paul was pretty much all fang and hiss, and in reality, away from the Press or an audience of goaders John was quite warm and friendly towards Paul.

I totally agree. Seeing those two together so many times was one of the highlights of my time in London. Watching them finish each other’s sentences, laughing in the middle of the night at the car park outside EMI was priceless (I used to watch quietly from a distance…). I never believed they hated each other, even when things got ugly.

I think a lot of the reactions of John and Paul were due to hurt feelings and difficult moments that led to the demise of the band. I really cannot imagine that any one of the 4 had heart-felt negativity toward one another.

  4. ‘Hate’ is a strong word. But it seems clear that JG&R had pretty strong feelings against Paul in ’70-’71 especially. I.E. – Couple of the comments in the postcards that John sent to Paul & Linda in this time period were just flat out vicious & mean.

Speaking of which, anyone read that new Paul book “Man on the Run ” which is supposed to be about the post breakup ?

@Lizzie- I always LOVE reading your recollections on this. I cannot even imagine how fascinating it must have been just watching the two of them!
