These colour rehearsal shots are another moistener for me, Tam. They’re from the July 19, 1964 (not ’65 appearance). This is the only one of the Fabs’ four Mike and Bernie Winters TV appearances missing believed wiped – although a great audio tape survives of the song segment. Thanks, Julio!
Datey, obviously the vapor from your moist nethers has got to you, these were sent to me by Carlos. Finger snaps for ‘Dating’ it correctly, i honestly am quite on the ball usually, but with the number of pics i see, honestly, the ‘Date Cortex’ in my mind is becoming quite addled, that, and well .. lately, the judge has been a VERY great guy
Take 2 – Thanks, Carlos!
great photos, thanks carlos!
great candid shots … never before seen (at least by my eyes).
thanks for sharing them with all of us!
Fancy Backdrop
(as if we don’t know their names)
Just had to comment on John’s sartorial excellence here.
A beautiful set of photos. Thanks, Carlos!
Absolutely gorgeous photos. Thanks so much for sharing, Carlos. : )
Holy crap, these are AMAZE-BALLS!!!!!!!!
Some of your finest, Tam.
Tammy you have done it again. These are great pictures that I have never seen before. Thanks for posting.
Looks like they were shot today, man those nice.
Often feel that I wished they’d appeared on TV more often during this period in their regular casual clothing – so much more interesting!
amazing photos
They did have some innovative backdrops back then. First time I’d seen these in colour though. Anybody got a set list for the songs that they played? Don, I’d agree, would love to have been a fly on the wall during some of those rehearsals (Miami-Ed Sullivan Show comes to mind)
Kudos to both Carlos and Tammy. I love the fact that it’s 2012 and we are still seeing great photos for the very first time!
WOW, these are AMAZING!!! Luv these photos and especially luv John duds and the photo of George – great detail on that gorgeous Ricky 12.
C3BlueNote – they played live versdions of ‘A Hard Day’s Night’, ‘Things We Said Today’, If I Fell’ (‘to prove we’re playing live’ as John announced it) and ‘Long Tall Sally’ wearing the black suits. They also participated in a sketch dressed as surgeons with hosts Mike and Bernie Winters with Ringo the patient about to be operated on. Also another as Steptoe and Son-style rag and bone men.
Sorry, I was working from memory – here’s the live set-list for the show -
A Hard Day’s Night, Things We Said Today, You Can’t Do That, If I Fell (with a fasle start – ‘to prove we’re playing live’) and Long Tall Sally
Thanks C3R….Great memory, that.
John’s blue striped shirt must’ve been his “top of the suitcase” shirt for that year. I’ve seen it on the US Help! album, US Eight Days a Week Picture sleeve, Yesterday and Today “trunk” cover and at least four other pics; now this one!
Amazing photo in color. the Rickenbackers are great!
