Pic is actually from May 1971. Same day Ringo was given his Academy Award for “Let it Be”. I think both awards were for the year 1970 but “won” in early 1971 and finally presented to them at the Apple offices in May 1971..Ringo being the only Beatle interested enough to actually receive them.

They’re listed on the Bravo Otto website as winners for 1970, but as you say, when they were actually awarded was obviously some time later. Ringo’s hair clearly shows this was not actually 1970, but later.

Hideous awards. Looks like something from the Atlanta Braves.

Your right, what fooled me was that His hair cut in February ’70 was nearly identical to his May ’71 do. I believe after his return to London from LA in early feb 70, he cut the front part of his hair into bangs, looking very much like mid ’71 ( that’s my pathetic excuse anyway) and we know that only lasted a couple of weeks until he cut it “sentimental journey” short, Ta for the correction.

I saw 4 bottles of brandy. Glad Ringo got off the booze and found a bit of good health, he could have easily gone the way of Keith Moon.
