(day #1 at meditation camp)
Another clean shaven rookie…
So, all we have to do is
meditate, write songs, let go of the world…
and NOT shave!
A few posts back (Smoke On The Water, Tamboura pic) Paul’s beard is nearly full. If that pic was taken at the Ashram as well, then, that’s a pretty long stay. According to Lewisohn’s Chronicle, Ringo left after 11 days, Paul stayed just over a month, and John and George stayed 2 months. That’s interesting because I had always envisioned the group finding out about the Maharishi’s advances and then denouncing him as a group. I guess they each rejected him individually. Ringo blamed the food (very clever). I’m not sure why Paul left (Jane, Peggy, Linda???) Did Paul get bored of TM? Or, did the Mararishi lose Paul’s interest? Anyway, the story about the’confrontation’ with Sexy Sadie loses steam with only two Beatles left.
…but, forget all that…
I find it very incredible that George and John could spend two months there. How does a Beatle drop everything at home for 2 months? Was Julian at the Ashram’s Transcendental Day Care? Also, I’m wondering if John and George (and wives) left the camp together…How long were the Lennon’s back home before Cynthia went to Greece?
Julian was at home, John and George left together, i think either Hari or Cyn wrote about the escape. Interesting that just before George passed he went and made his peace and appologised to the Maharishi, and soon after Linda passed, Paul took his children to visit Maharishi as well.
Thanks for your generosity. (The info, the pictures, the hard work…)
I do appreciate all the opportunities you give me to comment…It’s not that I love my own voice…I just love the Beatles.
So, “thank you, girl”…
