Calling Since1963, is this a Swedish show from October? The sandwich board in front of the amp looks like the ones on “Drop In” but the set is totally different. Did they do a camera rehearsal somewhere beforehand? Most interesting shot.

    A Car,
Both Drop In rehearsals and performance took place at Arenateatern in Gröna Lund. There was no other venue for practice. Here it looks like the drum kit (not Ringo’s) is on first level while at Drop In all drums were on a secondary level. This does not look at all like the elaborate set at Arenateatern, and I am not aware of any film footage from any other first tour performance. It’s not Gothenburg either (wrong mics), but it could possibly be taken in Karlstad (mics match, as do the white kit although it seems in wrong place.)
Wish I could be of more assistance. Anyone else?

Thanks for the help in identifying Since1963. I really should buy that book about The Beatles In Sweden. Is it still available?

I was thinking it was the fakery in mersey sound, where they pretend to be singing”she loves you”but the suit is wrong, that was the collarless greys, unless it was a rehearsal for same.

It’s Karlstad. The cameraman is Åke Hermansson but unfortunately he lost the film! There is a more complete picture with George in shot.

Good spot, philalban. I thought it might be Karlstad, but I wasn’t 100%.
I wonder if Mr. Hermansson, if he is still around, curses himself to this day day. How do you misplace a film like that? The Beatles were becoming giants just around this tour. Too bad it’s gone.
I grew up an hour from Karlstad, but, alas, was just 6 years old when they performed there. Not long after that my older brother brought home our first Beatles 45. That’s all she wrote. :) I still have the disc. Hence “Since 1963”.

By the way, A Car. the book you asked about is still available. Here’s a link to a Swedish site that sells it. It’s 125 SEK.

    Thanks, Since 1963!

Before Karlstad was mentioned, I’d have guessed the CU of Paul from the Love Me Do section of The Mersey Sound, where Paul got a close up – and they’re in black suit…
