    WOW!

    Lizzie…?

  2. lizzie says:

hi pete, no, it’s not one of mine. and i think it’s 1968 – i don’t remember john looking like that in 1967.

  3. Kwai Chang says:

    Thanks, Lizzie.
I see 1968 in the face, too!
(How did John find his way there in the broad daylight?
Seems mighty early to be at work…)

  4. Sebastian says:

    1968 all the way.

  5. lizzie says:

hi kwai, there were many times when they arrived and it was still light. and of course, the daylight sightings at paul’s house before the recording sessions were an extra treat – and fabulous to take photos without using a flashcube (4 flashes in one cube which sometimes you had to turn with your hand and burn your fingers). by the way, there’s a two page thing on me and a little note john wrote me in the new lennon letters book by hunter davies. hunter invited me to the vip party where yoko might be attending and the quarrymen will play, but as much as i’m a party gal, it seems a bit faraway to go (rio de janeiro-london).

Very beautiful picture, thanks so much for sharing. : )

  7. JPG says:

Definitely 1968 and quite possibly late July.

My reason is due to the striped shirt he is wearing. If you study it closer, it has bright stripe and is very much like the one worn on the footage taped for the Hey Jude sessions for the “Music” programme.

This footage is on youtube about 1.10….have a look.

    1968 Hey Jude/ White Album

  9. Tammy says:

Obviously 1968, it was a slip of my finger .. it happens at my age :-)

  10. Pete F. says:

Ah, the old “slip of the finger” story…. yeah, yeah, yeah (she loves you)

    :-)

Lizzie, very cool that you are in the new book. I’ve had it for two weeks now and it’s truly fab!

  13. mcarp555 says:

Hey Lizzie, I’m only two hours from London by train – can I have your ticket to the party? :D

  14. lizzie says:

hi nick and mcarp555! i haven’t seen the actual book yet, but one of the two journalists who interviewed me scanned the two pages last night so i could see them (the portuguese version). sorry, i don’t have a ticket to the party… i declined as soon as i got hunter’s e-mail, and that was a while ago.

  15. Kwai Chang says:

    @Lizzie…
Congratulations about all of that. That is just the best. I think many of us here have gotten spoiled by having you here to talk to. You have been so kind and generous that your celebrity status may have been neglected in the name of friendship.
(maybe not)…either way, Hunter is correct to have included you.
Thank you, for being so friendly about the friendliest group EVER!

  16. Ishie says:

Lizzie … I was thrilled to find your note from John and the little write up included in Hunter Davis’s new book ‘The John Lennon Letters’. First of all Congratulations on not only this honor but for once again sharing your treasures and memories with fans everywhere.
The book itself is beautiful. It’s filled with photos, notes, letters, postcards, drawings and wonderful memories from John’s journey (albeit a far too short one). Some are wrought with emotion, love, anger, thoughtfulness and John’s wonderment. We see him through all of the aspects of his life and it is remarkable.
I have always thought & have written in past posts that I believe John to be the most autobiographical writer in the band and now we have more of John to relish in.
In his own special way, he is still making us think about the possibilities in life. This collection is to cherish.

  17. lizzie says:

thank you, my dear kwai and ishie. i am quite happy to announce that my friends who went to the lecture and book release in london last night said hunter told my story and spoke fondly of me, saying he thinks my note is one of the most interesting things in the book – i guess because i am from brazil, because of the across the universe thing – anyway, i am very flattered and will write to thank him. yoko arrived for the vip party. i can’t say i’m not sad that i couldn’t make it. the only way i could have gone is if i was extremely irresponsible, which at 61 i can’t afford to be anymore… would have been sooo thrilled to be introduced to yoko via hunter… anyway, life goes on. let me get back to my book. xxx to all
