Picture 1: See no Paul, hear no Paul, speak no Paul
Wow, amazing – more “new” ones. Love the top one.
wow indeed. love unseen 1969 pics
The pic of John George and Ringo has immediately gone into my top ten Beatles pics. I wonder which session for “Abbey Road” this was..? Over to A Car…
My eyes aren’t what they were, but I assume that’s George Martin at the top of the stairs…?
George to Ringo..
“If Paul gets us to record another take of “Maxwell’s bloody Silver Hammer” again, I swear I’ll swing for him..
Ringo – “Well, I’ve got one called Octopus’ Garden..”
John – “Yoko, is that bed comfortable..?”
31st July 1969, Studio Two, overdubbing of timpani on “Golden Slumbers” / “Carry That Weight”.
This is why I continue the struggle. These pictures are time machines. And, from my favorite sessions, too. I think I better say Thank You, before I forget. This blog is “equal to the Love you make”.
“I wanna tell you that I love it a lot, but, I gotta get a belly full of wine”…
You know the rest!
About those pictures:
Too much to say!!!
John, you look like hell…make sure you wear a nice tie!
(Ocean Child can’t be far from the lens)
Fantastic shot – I agree these photos are my favourite era which I guess is strange considering they were hardly on speaking terms with Paul at this point.
Wow so love these photos. Never seen them before
Wow, really great photos Tammy!. This Blog rules!!! This is my favourite era as well.
Wow, what a treat! Not my favorite sessions (those would be Rubber Soul/Revolver), but these photos are delicious! Thanks!
My ‘Plea-as-sure’ Kwai, as it says on the side bar, it’s all about spreading the joy of the Fabs, appreciating them more (if thats possible) and celebrating the amazing photographers who were lucky enough, and talented enough to spend time with the Fabs.
There is timpani on Carry that weight?
Indeed. Both McCartney and Ringo tried a go at the timpani for “Golden Slumbers” / “Carry That Weight”. Please, listen to this isolated drums and timpani mix:
The man at the top of the stairs looks to be bearded, maybe Paul or Peter Brown.
And you can see the prototype for Paul’s NEW album cover behind Ringo.
That’s George Martin at the top of the stairs.
Great picture on top! Wow, it just never seems to end! Keep em coming Tammy and thank you once again
