Every time I see that coat now, I’ll think of Jack Douglas in LENNONYC talking about how happy John was when he bought it…
He looks so thin, and photos add weight. Always makes me a bit worried.
John Lennon looked 100% cool this day.
Great to see!
And nice and high rez too
He looks soooooooooooooo good!
Cara, after seeing the documentary I think about John’s excitement over his silver coat as well. Something so ordinary made him so very happy. That’s truly a testament to the man he evolved into.
Regardless of his weight at the time, this look worked well for him … hair, glasses, sweater … all very attractive!
Who’s the woman talking to J & Y in the last shot? Part of the production crew?
Love that color shot with the lake in the background. Beautiful, happy smile from John!
Totally agree! I’ll always think of that “silver coat” story too!
And I’ve always liked the “look” of John on this shoot-day.
Beatle-y all the way!
ishie:Something so ordinary? sorry to disagree with you but buying things is a pleasure for everyone one in the world rich and poor people.
I hope you didn’t mean that it was lennon felling happy to buy a coat only for tha fact that he was john lennon.I really worry when people think of famous people as if they(famous people) were gods and don’t have the same thrill of doing something as normal people.
I think the woman talking to J & Y in the last shot is tammy in a photoshop work.
Is it just me, or are the photos at
not fit the screen properly?
Just wondering, por favor
Great photos! John & Yoko looked great! These are among the best photos I’ve seen of them.
Luis – John was happy to go the store, try things on and buy it himself, with no one bothering him or mobbing him. He felt like a normal person just doing his own shopping. He didn’t have to run away or hide. Usually, someone else would have to shop for him because of the attention he gets.
Brian – I tried the site and yes, the photos do not fit.
I love these pictures, so beautiful and classic. : )
Hi Henry, no it’s not photoshopped, you’re right, that IS Miss Tammy in the last photo with John, i was on standby in case they needed a ‘Fluffer’ on set, that’s me about to hand John my portfolio of ‘Fluffer Erotica’ for his approval, strangely both John and Yoko were more interested in my coat, they were facinated to find it had been hand knitted by Puruvian leppers, and spun from the downy fur of a bison’s ball bag. Lest anyone think Miss Tammy is a fashion tragic, i just want it known, i don’t normally tuck my slacks into my boots, however after a violet bout of food poisoning the evening before, and having a belly like a poisoned pup, i figured it was better safe than sorry.
Tammy, you’ve done it again…these pics are spectacular. I love thinking about how great things were for both of them at this point…They both just glow….
thebeatles.forumsunlimited.com-hi I really don’t want to star a discussion here. I fell somehow you agree with me about john being as normal as everyone and go and buy things by himself.
Thanks Lizzie—shame isn’t it? that’s the official JL site too… I hate to see a rush job, especially when it’s for a hero.
Top reply Tammy! Similar ‘fluffer’ thoughts concerning the imminent humping scene crossed my mind too, but I held back…
I thought the last picture looked like spies in the park..anyway excellent bunch and I cant get over those children on the bench are now in there early 30s.
And it does kill the illusion of a quiet stroll.
Are they his original Beatle boots!!
Lovely pictures. If I could only freeze time I would
