Great pic ! This looks to be one of the photos taken by Bob Gruen of John’s 1975 trip to Yonkers, NY right around the time John appeared on Tom Snyder’s Tomorrow Show.
I have a strange feeling this photos is slightly if not quite alot not as it was taken, or perhaps its just the angle of the shot, however it is not in proportion at all, John particularly at this time was sbake hipped to say the least and didnt have such a broad frame at all, in fact he was quite a slight fellow by all accounts, maybe it was John and bob gruens intention to put out a photo that gave him a more robust build, who knows?but its a very odd photo..just look at the size of Johns head, any smaller and he’ll dissappear!
hi james, i feel that the reason this photo is a bit odd is because it’s a magazine cover and it was not scanned, someone took a photo of it. so, depending on the angle the person was, the photo must be a little weird. just a thought…
This picture was taken in Untermeyer Park in Yonkers, NY. He then stopped at the Broadway Diner in Yonkers for coffee. I stop in there all the time myself. I wish I could have been there the day John walked in. I was about 9 years old.
