Great to see this in such great clarity at last, Tam. 48th Street seems the appropriate place here to wish “R.I.P.” to Lou Reed – another original and inventive musician and New Yorker who left us yesterday.

    Quarrybank nostalgic. Thanks Mimi.

  3. Pete F. says:

    RIP Lou Reed

  4. Tammy says:

Wonder if John and Lou ever crossed paths. What i’d give to see a photo of John, Lou and Iggy Pop together :-)

  5. MarkC says:

I think there’s one of John, Bowie and Lou.

  6. Tammy says:

    Nah, that was Jagger :-)

  7. Cara says:

John, Bowie, and Iggy all once hung out in Hong Kong, I believe. Don’t know if there are any photos, though. RIP to Lou Reed, a true original and, like John, someone who ‘got it’ way before the rest of us and helped lead the way.

    Great pic of John, btw!

Yes indeed Cara – they did hang out briefly in Tokyo, October 1977 when John and Yoko were there and Bowie and Iggy were on their travels. I think they were staying in the same hotel. There is a colour Polaroid pic that I believe was first glimpsed on Bowie’s website of John and David together (presumably taken by Iggy). Iggy contributed his memories of the meeting in that recent book Yoko sanctioned of various celebs memories/thoughts of John.
