Wow. I’m guessing this is a hitherto unpublished pic! Who took it – and did they take any more…?
Did Mal forget where the snare drum goes?
And, is Ringo’s kit always this close to the amplifiers?
Don you are correct. Previously unpublished. The lady who took this photo was age 14 at the time, and had saved up her money to attend her first Beatle concert at (since demolished) Sydney Stadium, 6pm show, Sat 20th June 1964, when the pic was taken. She recently posted this on a facebook group that Miss Tammy & I are members of. The photographer wrote: “Apparently I just sat there in quiet awe, mouth slightly open, mouthing all the words. Then the dash to the front to take the pic, then escorted back by the ushers, who were very nice really, as they waited until the photo was taken”
For an apoplectic 14 year old girl, she had a very good eye for photography.
Thanks Stephanie – great back story!
