I’ve never seen that first photo before. Out to dinner or in the studio?
I love the last photo by Annie Leibovitz. John was a rocker to the very end!
I love photo’s of John in 1980 as they covered his different looks through the ages all in one year… Long hair with beard phase (Early Double Fantasy recording sessions), long hair look, Beatles mop top era (Double Fantasy cover) and the Teddy Boy look of his youth (from the last photo session).
John + tight jeans + boots + leather jacket + glasses = dreamy.
totally agree with KTH… that’s a “new” photo for me, love it!
I know I’ve seen that first photo before… trying to figure it out. Yes, John’s fashion in 1980 was way cooler than everyone else who was out there. He remained (and still remains) classically cool.
If these jeans could talk…
(they’d be singing)
Second photo taken by the late Vinnie Zuffante. RIP
John had the fire back in his eye in photo #1
Wearing his old Quarry Bank School necktie in pic 2
Thanks for the cool trivia. I had no idea that such things were saved.
I wonder if he kept any Beatle Boots.
Hey Kwai, maybe the boots? Who knows, I had read somewhere he definitley wanted to return to Britain and see his aunt Mimi whom he kept in touch with till the end……the tie solidified that connection to his mother land I guess.
