This photo is from the Top of The Pops slot on 16th June 1966. One thing that amazes the casual viewer is the weight loss that John underwent in less than a month from the Rain/Paperback Writer filming and would continue to do throughout the year-by the time of the How I Won the war filming he was incredibly slim. One very obvious reason is the copious amounts of LSD John was taking at the time-in that state many people simply don't eat or FORGET to eat.
I think the side effect of the LSD based weight loss led John to fixate upon his weight for the rest of his life. Though poignant, the Allen Tannenbaum photos from Nov 1980 show John looking emaciated under that kimono.

I've noticed that weight loss, I didn't know it the LSD.
*know it was
I think some reporter or someone called him pudgy or something. The weight loss was intentional.

I have news for that reporter. John was not pudgy…
Yikes! George and his right hand look sun burned! His left hand survived though!
